WARNING: This book contains a lot more mature scenes that the series' first book. Please be aware of this as a reader.

I completely understand that some readers couldn't care less about the story-line until the characters are actually in bed together. If you're a dedicated reader, then I promise you that you won't be disappointed by the buildup to Simon and Paige's relationship. But if you'd rather get straight to the dirty stuff, I suggest starting at Chapter 6.

"Whoever coined the term 'High School Sweetheart' never met Collin Ayers." Paige Thompson, an aspiring singer/songwriter, always felt like the late bloomer of her tight-knit, wild friend group, which included her older sister and music duo partner. While her friends were busy building their reputations and living out stories that would become legends in their hometown, Paige quietly watched from the sidelines, often plagued by FOMO. But now, armed with newfound confidence, she's determined to experience life to the fullest-both to inspire her music and to make a name for herself in the songwriting world. That all changes when she spends a summer alone with Collin Ayers, Mount Pine's notorious hockey prodigy. Collin, known for being either the life of the party or its biggest menace, has long embraced his role as the town's wild boy. His hobbies included getting hammered, hooking up, and stirring up trouble-making him the go-to guy for meaningless hookups at house parties. But as the summer unfolds, Collin finds himself drawn to Paige in a way he's never felt before. The resident heartbreaker starts craving something more, something real. Despite the messy breakup between Collin and her sister's best friend, Paige becomes irresistible to him, stirring feelings that he's never experienced. But can someone as self-destructive as Collin keep something good without ruining it? Neither could have predicted that one Spring Break would spark a bittersweet entanglement that would follow them for years. Now, as adults, Paige and Collin must face the unresolved pain and distrust from their high school days if they hope to rekindle what they once had. But can they emerge from their tangled past unscathed, or will history repeat itself?
