Rick Grimes, a former sheriff's deputy shot in the line of duty, has woken from a coma into a new world alone - at least until he meets amnesic survivor, Cathrine Calkins and her canine friend, Rudolph. With more questions than answers, Rick's only hope for survival is to trust the pair who only know all too well the horrors that await him in this new world.

When the unlikely pair come across a group of survivors in dead-torn Atlanta, they both suddenly face new challenges that will test the very brinks of their humanity ... and their will to survive. The growing pressures to stay safe begin to unravel the darkest depths of human nature within some and the realisation that the walking dead are not the real threat.

Together, Rick and Cathrine must put the priorities of the survivors first, but with the world overrun by the dead, is there anywhere safe?
