The abridged rundown of what I'm going for:
I'm starting to work on a fantasy book series that is told in the same fashion as mythology. I'm toying with the idea of putting a teaser chapter at the beginning of every book. The teasers would be part of the story, but it's there to set the tone if the story and make the reader want to know what's going to happen. A cliffhanger before the cliff is even seen if you will.
Here's what I've worked on so far for the teaser for the first book. Any and all feedback - positive or negative - would be awesome!

[COMPLETED] As I was beginning to relax, a new terror coursed through my body at his next word, "Strip." "Ex-excuse me?" I blurted out. I wasn't getting undressed in front of him, I barely knew him. He must have been trying to gain something from me and I doubted my fear and embarrassment was what he wanted. (Book one of the Family Tree) A girl who has to act perfect with her parents. Is bullied at school for being smart. Is wiped at home for being "stupid", "dumb", "fat" and many others. Finally, she is gives a choice to ditch that life for another one, which she does instantly. Sad enough, she just got deeper into a family problem. Dead or alive, she must figure out what is real and what is not. -------------------- Amelia, a 16 year old girl trying to fit in and figure out her ancestry, before ditching it. Maybe, good will come from this, maybe not so much. You'll have to see is book one called the Family Tree. "Can we just quietly let it consume us?" I asked for her to not say anything. Every book I never finished.
(if anyone wants to continue my stories make sure you tag it burningsnowman) I struggle with finishing my novels so I thought hey why not throw them all into one book... This book (not plural) doesn't just stick to one background it changes consistently leaving it impossible to figure out what might happen next. Also, some storeys end midway, therefore it leaves you frustrated but in a good funny way and you could even make an ending yourself. This novel is pretty much full of books I find to be a disappointment or non-continuable therefore when I make another crappy book it will be right here for all to see(oh wait that means your seeing how crappy my writing is.) But no my writings is fairly decent and I promise I will have you intoxicated in my stories. oh and also there may be mistakes purely because they're not finished. Not mature for the younger audiences. -------------------------------- I don't like explaining my books because when I do I tend to write out everything that happens, so I am just going to say that I come up with these horribly dark ideas and put them into books, of course these books may be sad, they may be horrible, and maybe even a bit sadistic, but in my mind they are badass, and I feel as if I should write them out. Of course they don't come out as I want them to but oh well you'll get the idea. I honestly think that they could be better but I had been told by my best friend that they are 'sadistically amazing' and that I should post them once they are finished, so meh. Yes, I know I happen to say this in each of my story descriptions but I truly do end up ruining the story if I write about it and I rather not go and spoil a book when I don't like it being done to me. There will be foul language, sexual content, some gay people, some stupidity, also some possible triggers, and most likely some grammar errors. So I'm just forewarning anyone that reads it. I also try to make each chapter 2000 words or more, I suppose if that isn't enough someone will eventually tell me so here you go. I get all of my pics from Google, so.... Hm hm Yeh.
