This tale follows young, fiery Miss Celia May, daughter to a humble, elderly farming couple. Miss Celia May has had to fight for her fortunes and is now confronted by a most nerve-wracking time of her life : Her Coming of Age.
Her sixteenth birthday looms closer and closer with each passing day, and Celia is forced to face her harsh reality - A future that she does not want to live. With pressure from her mother to find a suitable husband and pressure from her father to remain pure and innocent until marriage, could there be another way out of this impending torture? Surely she is not doomed to marry at sixteen and live a powerless life like her mother and mother's mother before her?
