Ariella, a very quiet teenager, loves the outdoors and capturing the essence of it. She spends her days in the woods while her family argues over politics and the struggle of knowing a war may be upon them. One day while taking pictures, she finds another person doing the same, and he seems familiar. They talk more and things seem to spark, but as it seemed to act as a fairytale, Japan bombs eastern Britain and the US is forced to intervene. Everyone has seemed to know this was coming, but what challenges Ariella faces as she tries to survive the war no one could have predicted.
