Two Hockey players, at the peak of their careers. One an autistic woman from Britain, playing in goal. the other a Dutch woman, tipped to be one of the Netherlands' hottest new forwards. Both of them have secrets that, unbeknown to them, impinge on each other. They meet each other in the Netherlands, and fall in love. But their secrets eventually come out...
Later, they're both selected for the Olympic squad - for their respective countries. For one of them is British and the other Dutch. And, as the tournament progresses and gets closer to the final, it becomes obvious that, for each of them, the highest honour of their sport, the thing they've dreamed about since they were children, can only be achieved by crushing the dreams of the woman they love.
