A howl split the night, echoing out it's pain. I knew what the howl meant. It meant the other Hunters were here. Soon the pack's Alpha would emerge to fight the oncoming threat. That was if I failed and didn't reach him first.
I approached his bedroom, my father flanking me, and tightened my fingers around the hilt of my dagger. My hand was steady despite the storm brewing beneath my breast bone. Could I really do this? Could I really betray everything I knew?
I took a deep breath and opened the door.
He stood there, in the middle of the room, as if he'd been waiting for me, and maybe he had. Maybe he'd expected this.
His eyes meet mine almost instantly. "Hello Tamara."
†††
Tamara Wolfe was a Hunter. She grew up learning how to track and kill Lycans, creatures that plagued the Earth and could shift from two forms. For as long as Tamara could remember she'd longed to leave the compound and go out on a mission. And, for as long as Tamara could remember, her father had kept locked behind the walls that protected her people.
One night everything changed. Tamara snuck out of the compound to go on a supposedly simple mission. Something had gone horrible wrong. Now, in the grasp of one of the most powerful Lycans, Tamara must find a way to escape and return to the compound before it's too late but she'll find that destiny is a hard thing to run away from.

WARNING: THIS BOOK HAS MAJOR PLOT HOLES, AND IS ALL TOGETHER VERY BAD. I SUGGEST YOU READ MY NEW BOOK, Skeletons In My Closet. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. When they slowly cut my skin, I didn't scream, when I felt their blades lightly drag across my stomach and legs I didn't shake. This was my life and I was used to it. It was fine. When his red stamp hit my card, I couldn't dare look. But those red letters attacked my eyes; Weak. ---------------------- This was the Alpha playing with his food. I could imagine how he would stalk to me, his head high with all his teeth showing. His pure white fur not being touched by the dust he had created when he chased after me. I can only imagine how every step for him would be a leap for me. That blood would hang from his mouth and drip onto the forest floor but not even faze his fangs. I was terrified of him. Even if I couldn't bring myself to mention it, to be weak and choose to submit. These thoughts kept me running, the invisible echo of a laugh that wasn't really there stayed in my ear, even though he was nowhere to be. ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• He was terrifying, but yet, at he same time he was safe. AU: I STARTED WRITING THIS 2 YEARS AGO. ITS NOT THE BEST STORY.

"Are you willing to risk everything?" He asked, leaning his face in closer until our foreheads touched and our lips were barely an inch apart. His blue eyes were so deep and dark today, but not in the menacing way, more so in a lustful longing. My heart was speeding so erratically in my chest that I was afraid that it might just pop right out. Say yes! My wolf cheered. She was waiting for this ever since we first found his smell. That alluring smell of security. Well my thoughts were really getting muddled. "I have nothing to lose," I stated bluntly while trying to distract my heart. And then abruptly he backed away, taking my breath away with him. I wasn't sure what to make of the situation. We both stood there standing speechless for a moment. I couldn't help but to feel a disgusted that he would act like he wanted me and then pull away so harshly.
