The pitter-patter of rain, the warm taste of cafe mocha which lingered on my tongue made me hungry for more as I devoured the calibri letters on the brown paper behind round glasses. I sat at my favourite spot in Suzie's Coffee Shop, the table facing the wet, deserted street. As much as I loved the peace the weather brought and the calmness that it gave my spirits, my eyes couldn't leave the brown pages. _Will Alexa be killed?_ No feeling was sweeter than having your three favourite things combined- the rain, coffee and books.

"They say that no matter how harsh the winter, the lion's tracks never get lost under the snow." Winter had returned; a snowstorm had engulfed everything. And when the snow began to melt, secrets would be revealed. No secrets remained hidden in Midas. When Azalea left Devin for college and came to Midas, she had no idea what she would encounter. She had no idea that she would meet a new life, new friends, and the love that would tear her heart apart. Her heart would split in two, and everything would become much more complicated than she had imagined, with one side of the scale weighing more heavily than she had thought. Sometimes everything began with death. Sometimes with the arrival of a stranger in town. A new era began in Midas. The members of the society, the glittering invitations, the dazzling parties and friendships... Everything seemed enchanting. But the glow of Midas blinded people. That light would penetrate your soul, adorn your heart, and make you lose your conscience.
