Thomas is taken by WICKED after the last city is burned to the ground. Held in a new area where no one is allowed in or out he is tested on and used relentlessly to produce a cure to the deadly flare virus, an after effect of the sun flares that have ravaged the earth.
Also in this facility is Teresa, carrying a secret no longer a secret. While WICKED uses her and her child to threaten Thomas, the two of them must try to figure out how to escape their hell, and repair a family that has been broken from the beginning.

The group needs to get out of there as fast as they can to escape the hands of WICKED. But will all of them make it? There is a long way before them, with many obstacles and new people, and new truths get discovered. Will this break the group apart or will they still continue strong.
