WARNING: WHOLESOME, BUT SMUTTY AS ALL HELL (Read "The Camgirl" and "The Roommate" before this!) Just as everything seems to be falling into place for Blake and Liam and Marie and Lexi, winter break comes, and along with it, the test of whether or not their relationships can handle a month of being apart. Once apart from Blake and with his friends and family, Liam gets a worried Blake might be a rebound, and wants to do everything he can to make sure that's not the case and find and take care of any red flags before they could become a problem. As he gets closer to seeing Blake again, though, he gets curious, and starts experimenting in hopes of fulfilling a deal he made with her. Once they get back to school, he plans on working through any issues that might come up so that he can be the best boyfriend possible to Blake, and make sure that she's the one, like he believes she is. While most of her friends have fun and family and relaxation to look forward to, Blake just has pain and loneliness. Her grandparents are great, but they just about the only thing in her hometown that fits that label. Blake misses Liam terribly, and being home dredges up a lot of old, unresolved issues that Blake is set on dealing with herself rather than depending on Liam or anyone else. She just hopes she can make it through break. Lexi and Marie, while apart over break, have decided to turn the distance into something to have fun with. They both miss each other terribly, but being apart doesn't have to get in the way of them being together or spicing things up. Slow Burn (Queen of the South TV Series Analysis & Fillers) by Dgadja

Why do we love Teresa and James? Because of the people they were and the experiences they had, but most importantly because they gave us the hottest SLOW BURN in modern TV. What is a slow burn? It's a character-driven relationship that takes time to develop, where the protagonists meet under tenuous circumstances and slowly invade each other's space, causing each other doubts, pain, turmoil and insecurity. A slow burn follows the characters as they fall in love gradually, presenting a realistic and genuine romantic experience. It allows the fans to watch the progression and transformation of their relationship over time. Since the storyline is slower paced than a love at first sight or a fast hook-up, the fans become invested and the payoff is much more rewarding! A slow burn romance either explodes or fizzles out. Any ending feels like a personal experience to the fans due to the time and effort taken to get the protagonists to the point of clarity. Teresa and James lived through all the stages of a slow burn with the crime world in the background, which has made them so addictive as a couple.

When Blake gets some news that dredges up her past though, she worries. Liam is fine with her being a camgirl, but will he feel the same when he learns what kind of person she really is and how screwed up her family is? Blake has carefully kept that topic out of conversation, but Liam's been asking questions, and she knows it's only a matter of time until she'll have to tell him the truth. In Liam's mind, Blake is the best thing that's ever happened to him. But he felt that way with Marie at first, and that didn't end well. As wonderful as Blake make's him feel, Liam wants to take the rational approach and make sure there aren't any red flags that would pop up down the line that would make things even harder and messier than if he learned of them now. As Liam tries to get Blake to open up, however, she pushes him to be a big rougher with her, to take initiative more. While Liam is all for that, he struggles with it, and even thinks about asking for help... Marie is alone. Things between her and Blake are strained, and she never realized how much Liam had become a fixture in her life. She misses him, but knows he isn't going to take her back, so she spirals. When out at a club one night, she meets two girls. Both are gorgeous. One intrigues her and leaves her wanting. The other takes her home and gives her the best sex of her life, opening her up to an entirely new side of herself. As things heat up with both, Marie finds herself being pushed to choose between the two, but she doesn't know if she CAN choose, or stick to a choice once she makes it.
