This cloudless night sky,
Emblazoned with the splendor of the cosmos,
Is framed in stark symmetry against my gray window pane.
A distant sound pierces the solitude of my slumber,
Awakening me with a rhythmic beat,
One that calls to the core of my heart,
Sending swirling music through my head, pulsing,
The melody deepens - echoing the cadence of my own circadian rhythm,
Flowing like a river - building in speed, raging, charging,
The ever mounting excitement sends my feet into a compulsory dance,
As euphoria fills my lungs the ecstatic surge pushes me outside,
I stand naked in the moonlight, unfiltered, uncovered, and free.
My hair flows in the cool evening breeze, caressing my shoulders, whispering truths,
The remaining light and heat from the embers of the dying bonfire guides me,
Gentile mists of rain kiss me and invigorate my form, bringing forth memories of the past,
Soles of my feet connect with the rich soil - charging me with a calm centeredness,
The fullness of life teaming around me sings the praises of the interconnected aether,
Here, in this moment, I am home.

"What the hell?" I took a step closer to the mirror, staring at my reflection in disbelief. The person looking back was still me, but at the same time it wasn't. I had the same thick, dark, curly hair. The same hazel eyes. The same olive skin with a light dusting of freckles (ugh) scattered across the bridge of my nose. But my curls were now streaked with highlights. And not the subtle, golden-brown ones that sometimes appeared during the summer. No, these were an aggressive, dazzling blond that went from the roots of my hair all the way to the tips. It looked like I had spent a full day getting my hair done in some upscale salon. Never mind that I had never set foot in such a place since the day I was born. My eyes appeared somehow wider and more luminous. The colour brighter, my eyelashes darker up against them. And, when I looked closely, my pupils seemed to be slitted almost like a cat. I looked down at my body. My skinny arms-which had always refused to gain any definition no matter how hard I exercised-were lined with flat, wiry muscles. My bony shoulders were now curved and smooth. My scrawny legs were toned like a dancer. I reached down and lifted my shirt, revealing two subtle lines running vertically down my perfectly flat stomach, hinting at the rock-hard abs underneath. My whole body was rippling with strength. Like liquid steel.Complete

Thora said forcing my legs to walk. I took the elevator noticing that the higher I went up the smell of wolves became more noticeable and the more vulnerable I felt. "Hello. Uh-um.. I am Sophia Gonzalez and I am here to be the Secretary for Mr. Anderson," I told the middle aged lady at the front desk. I knew that she knew that I was a were-cat because she was weary of me. She looked at me with pity for a flash second and then called Mr. Anderson to ask him if I could go in. She put the phone down and said,"Miss. Gonzalez you may go in now." I open the door to Mr. Anderson's office and just as it creaked open I sensed the smell of an Alpha wolf. "MATE!!!! FINALLY OUR MATE!!!!." "What the hell are you talking ab---!?" I chase away any bad or worried thoughts because this place seemed so sacred it did not allow them. I breath in and catch the sweet scent of lavender flowers that speckled the ground in little clumps and the dry smell of dirt that hadn't been rained on in a couple of day. I listen to the steady titters of birds as they fly from tree to tree, collecting little twigs and leaves to build their nests with. I listen to the buzz of the bees greedily feasting on the flowers that scattered around the dry forest floor. I open my eyes to take in the scenery, rays of sunlight filter through the green canopy, penetrating through the leaves and casting a green-yellow effulgence over the ground that wavers as the trees rustle in the light whispers of wind. The crunching of dry leaves under my feet alert me so I cast my eyes to the floor and watch as I step on each individual leaf and dry twig, enjoying the snapping sounds that echo through the near silent forest. Gnarly roots dip into ground and twisted branches reach down, fingers grasping the air, as if reaching for me and I shiver, thinking of my father. I cast my eyes up to think of something else and instantly calm as another puff of breeze rustles the leaves on the trees and ground gently. I look ahead and notice the steady thinning of the old trees and run towards it, loving the feeling of the air in my air and clothes. I spot what I think is light dancing on waters surface and sprint for it. Then I break through the trees, making it to the lake.Complete
