Centuries ago, before this time of peace, humans were at war.
We were at war with supernatural creatures, creatures only thought to exist in our bedtime stories. Vampires and werewolves, witches and fairies, even soaring dragons whose wings seemingly cut the sky.
We let fear take hold of us and attacked. The battles were hard fought, many were lost but once the Mythics had banded together, they easily won the war we had started. Although they won, their numbers were severely lowered.
To prevent another war, they decided to make a deal with the humans.
In exchange for them all leaving the realm to one of their own, they would be able to take any human that fit into the agreed criteria with them. They then turn them into a magical being, to be raised as the monster's young.
