Revision of My Misconceptions, a story written back in 2015 where DC and Marvel universes exist in one, but only by mention in character.


As a forgotten foster child, Emma never exactly believed in miracles or magic of any kind, or even the proclaimed superheroes everyone loved. That all changed the fateful night when she was mugged and attacked. At that point in her life, she had come to the conclusion that she wouldn't amount to much, and as she lied half-conscious on the ground, she couldn't help but think that she deserved this kind of death. She didn't want it, but it seemed appropriate to someone with nothing to call her own. 

Then in swoops in her own personal superman, saving her and taking her back to his place where she wakes up the next day. She is then surprised to find that everything she thought was fake before, was suddenly coming to life before her eyes. And what's even more shocking is, she's been in the middle of it her whole life.

There is, however, an underground world of others like her, a criminal empire working toward something she had been trying to stop. But with no knowledge of what the villainous plan was, who these criminals were, or how to properly use her powers, things seem grim. She knows she is the only one who can stop them, and the only backup she has is a man who claims to have been her friend from before the accident. Will she be able to train her powers up, and stop the devious master plan before it's too late?

"The world around her swam with mottled light. How long had she been fighting?" So...in sixth grade we took this computer-skills class. Our final test was to write a short story in Microsoft Word. My story ended up fleshing out into the trilogy I am working on and planning to publish at somepoint in my life, but I realized how incredible my writing skill has improved between just the two or three years. One day, that person is her little brother, snatched right in front of her from their arms of their father and gone forever. When a person is snatched, they never return, and life goes on without them. But she can't accept that. Breaking all the rules, all the things she's ever known, she braves the world outside her little townhouse and goes on a mission into the darkness to find her brother. Only, it's soon her that becomes the one lost to the drains. To survive she must rediscover her world, and in the process, rediscover herself. She will be reunited with old friends, gain new ones, find out deeper secrets about her past than she ever could have imagined, and learn that the world is even more corrupt than she always thought. *** This story contains sexist ideology, mention of cheating, some gruesome scenes, and a whole lot of monsters and darkness. It isn't overly mature... there isn't much explicit language or sexual scenes, but there is a bit of violence, so just keep that in mind... and despite all that negativity, ENJOY!
