The world has gone to hell in a hand basket to say the least. Alastair, a cop just finishing up the case breaker of her life, is thrown into chaos when she finally leaves her home almost a month after the initial outbreak. Finding that the world isn't going to return to normal as she had expected Ali looks for anyway she can to survive even if that means teaming up with one of the criminals she just put away for life...

Braxten was a man of conviction or more like a man with convictions. After being thrown into a prison cell for his affiliations with the men Alastair put away, Brax is looking at death row for his sentence, however that is put to a halt when fellow inmates suddenly start dying and then coming back to life. Wondering what the hell is going on Braxten fights his way out of the prison only to come out into a world worse then he just left. Teaming up with the cop who had sentenced him to death wouldn't have been his first move, however to survive he must do whatever it takes, even if he doesn't enjoy the thought of it.

CALLIE has no family left. So she's been spending her time in the woods, picking at questionable berries and developing a dark worldview. She has a dream of vengance, to kill the man who murdered her mother. And when a seemingly random trip to the circus brings her together with some strange people, Callie finds out that her dream could become reality, and she just might tip the scales of doom and salvation in the process... ALEX is a pessimist. With good reason. His whole life has consisted of grief, pain and hardship, including occasional glimmers of happiness. But when happiness comes, it quickly fades, leaving an empty void in its place. Alex knows this, and he won't be fooled into thinking otherwise. Or will he? LUNA needs a better job. Being a trapeze artist may hide her from the government, but it's not so fun when the manager is a raving lunatic and there's likely to be a crazed pervert in the crowd. So when the big top gets demolished- literally- Luna sees it as a ticket to freedom (contracts are generally void once a business has been destroyed). What she doesn't see are the doors to her past creaking open, and their contents coming to haunt her. ZACH is normal...ish. As normal as a Gifted kid can be. His brand of normalcy includes a kickass grandma, childhood trauma and your everyday run of the mill dragon, but hey, he's not as insane as the others. Really, Zach is thirsting for adventure. Something that doesn't involve babysitting siblings or feuding with his parents. He should've been careful what he wished for.

For the benefit of society he feels an obligation, for what he had done in his life, to find a way for those that cannot contain the evil within themselves to satisfy the hunger that burns in them and make the world a better place. First, he must escape his criminal life. The head of the organized crime family he serves will never let him walk away, the only way Norval Tullis will ever allow him to quit, is to become dead first. He wants to retire from his life of crime, a normal life, a regular girl. There will be a body count, there has to be, he's been plotting this for a decade, longer maybe, then she came back into his life, the basket case. To escape this history of violence, he'll needs a little help from his friends. All his planning never encompassed having a partner; things starting on their own ahead of time is something you can't plan for. Things aren't as they seem in many cases, especially when dealing with people whom excel in the arts of smoke and mirrors and keeping the truth and reality hidden.
