The X-Plora division of the Earth 2.0 Galactic Exploration Project have successfully travelled to Planet Manes in search of a secondary global oxygen source and was able to retrieve a single canister-full of the new oxygen. However, on returning to Earth, the X-Plora collided with an unknown object. Critical damage to the ship's oxygen supply caused a severe decrease in oxygen available to the X-Plora's crew members: all eight of them don't have enough oxygen to turn back to Planet Manes, or arrive at Earth alive.
