Now returning to her pack after four years for her sister's engagement, she notices some changes. Some changes as in the person her sister is getting married to being her mate.

My current partner twirls me and passes me to my next partner. My partner's arm wraps around my waist and immediately sparks fly everywhere.
I quickly retract and stare at my mate, feeling giddy all of a sudden. My giddiness come to a sudden halt when I meet his stormy grey, cold eyes. His eyes held no emotions, they were empty.
He sneered before pushing me backwards, catching me by surprise as I stumbled.
"I, Arlen Samuel, reject you, Emer-" I quickly slap my hand over his mouth to stop him from continuing.
"Please not now, my wolf will lose control, do this tomorrow, please?" I ask quietly, my hand still covering his mouth. Painful howls filled my mind as my heart clenched with agony.
"Fine, but I better not see your fucking face before that." With that said, he left me standing there all alone.
Shattered. That's what my heart felt like right now. If I even tried, I don't think I could ever pick up all the pieces and mend it. It had been shattered beyond repair.

Hate was one emotion that described what she felt for her mate, feelings were mutual though. But it's a bond created by fate, no matter how hard you try, you can never run away from it.
