Every once in awhile Shouto would get a feeling. A feeling that something was about to go terribly wrong. He didn't know where this feeling came from, or how to explain it to others when they asked, he just knew things were about to go downhill really fast.
When he started at UA though, he started to have these moments less and less, especially after the Sports Festival when he befriended Midoriya. And they practically stopped completely after they moved into the dorms. It wouldn't be until much later that he would recognize the correlation though. But the peace ended abruptly with the arrival of someone new.
