Valentine (Val) Vasquez has been an insomniac ever since her parents got a divorce when she was fifteen. Sleeping pills will get her to sleep, but only when she is willing to take them. Now Valentine is eighteen years old, a freshman in college, her roommate is just about done with her, she is homesick, and all the added stress makes it harder for her to fall asleep let alone stay asleep. Just when nothing could get worse for Valentine, girls start disappearing from the campus. Valentine bravely decides to figure out what exactly is going on within their supposedly 'safe' college campus along with a Marcus, who just happens to be narcoleptic.

This unlikely duo sets out to discover the mystery of Oakwood College. But when you really thing about it, what good could a girl who can't fall asleep do teamed up with the boy who can't seem to get enough sleep?
