Dark means, with little or no light, characterized by tragedy, unhappiness, or unpleasantness, suggestive of or arising from evil characteristics or forces; sinister. The many ways Dark is used to describe exactly how Mya feels. She's trapped, used, and forgotten. She has nowhere to go. Living in constant fear, she has lived the past four hundred and ninety-eight days somewhere unknown. She lost all hope of being found and got used to her life in the dark. What happens when she realizes that suddenly she's not alone? As Mya weakens she begins to wonder if she's even going to make it out of this hell.
