At Shoto's house, the quiet is cautious, afraid to be broken. He and Fuyumi tiptoe around silently, jumping at every noise. It is a quiet that exists only because of fear, and Shoto despises it. So when Midoriya offers to let Shoto stay at his house during the winter break, Shoto doesn't hesitate to accept.

"I know ok?!" - Izuku screams, he never screams. Shōto flinches and fights the instinct to cover his ears as he stays put with his back against the bedroom door. Fuyumi frowns with the headphones in her hands, ready to place them over his ears, but for once Shōto wants to know. "He's not special! He's just-" - the sentence stops, Inko warns him to stop as it often happens and somehow Shōto wishes Izuku wouldn't stop. He needs to hear it, he needs someone to say that word. "I'm your son, you birthed me, and still I'm never a priority..." - Izuku says and his voice breaks. It's quieter this time. Shōto opens the door and takes a tentative step outside, not really knowing why: maybe to confront Inko, or maybe to comfort Izuku. The entrance door slams and he's faced with only Inko. She looks at him with so much guilt she might as well just have killed a man. "I'm sorry..." - she says and Shōto doesn't understand what she's actually sorry about. ~ To sum it up: Tōya decided to run away from his abusive household with his sibling. Endeavour face a trial for child abuse that lead to his immediate hero career decline and incarceration. While Tōya manages to run away with Natsuo, Fuyumi and Shōto end up in a foster home. Izuku quit dreaming of becoming a pro hero after three times of being denied. He decided to screw it, and just be normal. He has part time jobs, he recently graduated, he has a car, a nice apartment. And the support from his mom. That is all he needs. What he doesn't need is his childhood bully showing up in his Pro Hero costume outside his door. Or outside the window to his jobs. Or anywhere near him to be honest. But Izuku can't catch a break as Bakugo keeps asking him to become a hero. "Come on. You can become a hero." Bakugo said moving to stand in front of Izuku. A couple months into the second school year Izuku Midoriya goes into UA high. There he meets a new friend named Shoto Todoroki. He deeply contrasts to how Izuku acts. As he's a bit more of a delinquent while Izuku is much more well-behaved. The principal thought it would be a good idea to have Todoroki as Izuku's guide for the rest of the year to keep the both of them out of trouble.
