Isabella Ramirez  is forced to move into the predominantly white town, Northview, after the death of her father over the summer. Battling the grief of her father and inside issues from the gang she's in, moving in with her Tia Adalia is practically the last thing she's looking to do.  

Elijah Taylors, a sheltered and not so innocent resident of Northview can't sleep to stay away from Isa or the trouble she brings. After his experience with family abandonment, Eli connects with Isa on a whole different level, but he's the calm one. The boy with a whole different approach to zen.

He's smart but acts like he's the greatest and he tries to impress her but she can hardly be impressed by things she can do.
