Like anyone else Luke wanted to be known and somewhat famous, so he starts posting videos on YouTube. They get a little attention but Luke knows he might need more people in his 'band', so Calum and Michael join him. They're okay for a little while, but still feel something is missing. Ashton's been in a few bands but none have really kicked off, when Michael asks to join their band Ashton agrees. When Ashton meets Luke, things change.

When I face him again, Ashton is smiling. He leans back slowly in his seat, resting his folded hands on his stomach. "This is gonna be fun." I narrow my eyes at him. "What's gonna be fun?" "Winning you over." I have to bite back the vomit that fights to exit through my mouth. "Excuse me?" "It's a challenge now." "Nobody challenged you to anything." "I have challenged myself." "Well, that sounds like a personal problem." I grit my teeth. "I am not your challenge." Ashton just smiles at me. "We'll see about that." Disclaimer: -This story is a work of fiction. The last thing Ashton ever wanted to do was hurt Luke, but he couldn't help it. The singer was just so beautiful, so ethereal and otherworldly that it took his breath away most of the time. Everyone felt that way about their best friend though, right? It was normal. No use getting unnecessary feelings involved, it was better this way. Luke understood. Luke wasn't sure when this thing between him and Ashton started, or how it started, but it didn't matter. He was in too deep to go back now.
