A roar of thunder echoed deep within the mountains of Ysla, muting the howls of groaning men and gunfire momentarily.
The maiden took this chance to regain her balance before swinging her brittle sword to the enemy's vital point, only to be countered with undeniable strength coming from a veteran.
Losing her grip, the sword flew away from her reach, and there she stood unarmed soaked in blood, sweat, and tears as the harsh droplets of rain poured down on her shoulders.
With forced effort, she stood firmly, facing her tyrant of a father with a stoic expression despite the blood-drenched blade pointing at her carotid artery.
She forcefully took a deep breath before looking at those red irises,
And with quivering lips, she spoke.
"I'm here for the throne, Father. I am fighting for your crown."
