Cosmo was a popular boy who didn't enjoy the highlights of the teenage life like some of his friends did... Parties, drinking, finding the most beautiful and popular girlfriend, they weren't really his game. 
Byrn on the other hand wanted to live life before she could be tied down to the responsibilities of adulthood. She was a fire that no one really knew how to put out. 
 That was at least how Cosmo saw her, he had been enchanted by her ever since they were young. She was an eye catcher to many of the guys around her but she never really knew who she cared for. 
And despite Cosmo being a writer good looking with good grades and a personality, around her he felt.. gawky and average.
