Legolas is the equivalent of a 15 year old human, making him around 100. His father, Thranduil, blames his son for the death of his wife (in this story she died in child birth) and beats his son every day in punishment.
Aragorn (Estel) was raised by elves in Rivendell, where such cruelty would never be tolerated. He is currently aged 20. When he is sent to Mirkwood as a representative of Lord Elrond, he accidentally discovers the hardships of the prince's life.
But will Estel be able to rescue Legolas? And if he does, will the elf ever be able to learn to trust?
Aragorn is trying to deal with the truth he has only just learned about his heritage. Can he save Legolas' life and bear the burden of a destiny he doesn't want? And what will happen if he fails?
