Excerpt:

"Why? Why is this happening?" Arthur screamed, punching his right fist repeatedly into the wall until he felt the warmth of his blood dripping down onto the ground beneath him. Numb with despair, he crumpled against the wall and burrowed his face into his blood-stained hands.

"Arthur!" Zoé cried out and Arthur heard the pitter-pattering of her steps as she rushed towards him. The French gently pulled him into her arms and gave him a tight hug as another sob racked through him. He let his arms hang limply by his side as his tears soaked into her ragged shirt.

"It's okay, I'm here. I've got you," she said softly and he recoiled back from her words, pulling away from her grasp.

"It's not going to be okay!" he choked out and shook his head fiercely, a crazed look glinting in his eyes, "It's never going to be okay."

"It's me. It's all me," he screamed as he dug his fingers into the ground.

"They're all dead and it's all my fault!""
