My name is Alysia James Wraith. I am 16 years old, and I live in a world where dragons exist. 

Alysia is chosen to go to Caerhayes Academy, a school where young adults get taken to study dragons. They stay at the school from age 16 to age 20, when they can decide how they will use their dragon-riding skills to better the world. There's only one problem,  Alysia can't afford to go. Her parents are expecting a child and she needs to be there to care for the baby when the time comes. She goes anyways, and her life will never be the same.
