Originally, Scarlet Plum didn't believe in fairytales due to a horrible accident that scarred her and her family's lives forever. Ever since then, her perfect family had turn into her worst nightmare. Now at 17, Scarlet has replaced her tiaras and pink dresses with piercings and black boots to forget all about how her once sweet once-upon-a-times that had turned into horrible once-upon-a-nightmares.

But just as she was getting used to numbing her pain through multiple piercings, in comes the new boy to her royally-messed up life. A boy from a faraway land where dashing princes and royal families actually exist, a boy who was so far from her image of a prince but treated her like royalty nonetheless; a boy that will remind Scarlet that  though her once upon a time did not fare so well, her happily ever after was just yet to begin.
