'THE 8TH WHEEL'

Because Prince Lotor's fate in season 6 still haunts me in my dreams, I'm going to make this lil fic that follows Lotor's horribly handled struggle to fit in with the Galaxy Garrison

Lotor has always been a true champion at using his words to get what he wants, when he wants. He always had a plan, even for the most obscure of contingencies.  'Yes, Acxa, I do plan for when our ship accidentally gets stuck in a weblum's mouth!' He was always ready, always calculating, and always correct.

But after suffering a massive exposure to Quintessence that completely skews his entire life's 10,000 years of planning, Lotor finds himself treading water to keep up with everyone.

The Galaxy Garrison was not at all where Lotor pictured himself after accessing the rift but here he was, worrying more about where he was supposed to sit for lunch rather than Zarkon breathing down his neck with a knife pressed to his back.

And, in all honesty, Lotor is still unsure of whether he preferred the knife to this drama.

After barely fighting off a fleet of Galra ships, Voltron lands on the planet Toumia that is surrounded by three suns, humbly expecting thanks, gratitude, and food. Not necessarily in that order. However, as soon as they land on the ground, the leader of the Ibhe Htua, Pedagogue Tuaste, tells them that they did a good job, but there's a lot to learn before they even have a hope of defeating Zarkon and his evil empire. They defend it. * * * The timeline for this fanfiction within seasons 1-2 of VLD are unknown, for reasons that will be clear by the end of this particular fanfiction. As such, the characters will know how to do certain things, and not know other things. Because of this, there will be spoilers for some things but not others, and seeing as this happens somewhere within the spacetime between the episodes of seasons 1 and 2. It's weird. Hang with me, it'll all make sense by chapter sixteen. Maybe fifteen. I haven't written that far out yet. He's alone again. Lance, Pidge, and Hunk are employed by the Garrison, Shiro leads missions off world, Allura and Coran are establishing a new world for the Alteans who'd survived, and the Blade don't need him. Keith works in a coffee shop and gets by the best he can, on the little money he earns. This story is loosely based on the paladins of Voltron. I have not watched all the seasons and have changed the backstory of some characters. I do not own any of the characters in this story, and I do not own any of the artwork. The Paladins of Voltron are missing, only Coran Shiro, and Princess Allura got out of that battle. The black lion was the only one to make it back to the castle. Then lions Green, Blue, Red, and Yellow where all taken with their Paladins. The green Paladin hasn't been heard from longest, Katie was separated due to her scientific mind and technological mind/ insight. The only thing know about her, is that she is never in the same prison too long. Keith was put in a cell only drones can access, due to his Galra roots. Lance is on the same ship as Keith, but in a standard cell, he is just trying to figure out a way to get him and Keith free. Hunk already escaped, and got his lion, he has been making a b-line for the Balmera and Shay. He was in the lowest security cell, so broke out pretty easily. The Galaxy has been searching for their heroes, the Paladins of Voltron, and they get closer every day. The Garrison have been trying to get in contact with the Paladins for years now, unaware that those who they need to rescue them, are the ones in need of rescuing. Different situation to the end of season six and of season seven. I know this isn't what happens, but this is a Fanfic, not the actual thing. Go to Netflix if you can't handle this, but seriously. I own nothing but storyline and plot, everything else goes to Netflix.
