Stumbling across a secret portal to another world looking for his brother, Zack Beckett a 19 year old introvert finds himself stuck in another world and wanting to go home. As the days he spends there turn into weeks, he finds that he must return to his home in the next 168 hours before he fades into nothingness. Born in the world opposite of Earth, Ceila Zender a dark mage finds Zack stuck in her home world and is not willing to help, but is desperate to find her younger sister missing in the other world. The longer Zack stays there, the closer death is for him and his little brother. The longer Ceila is there, she puts her sister's life in danger, her only family left. Will the two work together to get what they both need, or will both perish into the unknown world of death along with the person they came to get?

What if the fantasy world you grew up reading was real? What if your father wasn't an overbearing writer, but a warrior who defeated kings? What if you traveled to this world and returned? Who would you tell? Who would believe you? Jack doesn't know who he wants to be. Everyone at high school only knows him as the son of world-famous fantasy author Marcus Ward. But after Marcus mysteriously dies, Jack finds himself transported to the fantasy world, where the fictional heroes and villains live and breathe. Even worse, they've been expecting him. Some want to kill him for his father's crimes. Others think he is the answer to a prophecy, come to defeat a familiar evil. An army of rebels has rallied behind a prophet who foretold Jack's arrival - but who hides his own secrets. Jack must now confront his father's legacy in one world and rise above it in the other. Otherworld goes beyond the "other world" fantasy trope by continuing Jack's story when he returns to our world. How can he go back to his life after learning his father's secret - and who would believe him?
