When twenty-four-year-old Emily Colsack was pushed towards Maxim Shantez at the tender age of nineteen, her father had told her it was set in the stars, that they were meant to be. Two days after her marriage to Maxim, her father was found dead beside her mother in a car wreck. Left with nobody but Maxim, Emily finds herself trapped in a violent and destructive marriage. After another brutal battering, Emily runs from the house straight into the path of a car.
