Fazia alguns séculos desde que o rei dos mares havia abandonado seu trono nas profundezas dos oceanos, Atlas era o primogênito de Poseidon seu herdeiro natural, mas desde da última guerra entre os sete reinos marinhos onde Atlas havia matado seu pai e herdado seu tridente o rei havia desistido de governa os sete reinos e ter seu acento no Olímpio.  Ele havia fracassado como deus, fracassado com seu povo, fracassado como governante, estava farto das disputas mesquinhas dos deuses e principalmente farto de Atena. Mas matar deuses e principalmente um deus como Poseidon havia consequências nas quais ele teria que arcar um dia mesmo se fugisse para longe as consequências o encontraria.
