Zeke Reyes has moved schools more times than he can count, so making friends has never come easy to him, since he is practically programmed to be a loner.
At his latest school Zeke expects nothing more than the usual, months of isolation and loneliness before moving yet again.
But all that changes when he finds a group of friend he actually fits in and connects with, particularly a certain blind girl who he may or may not be actually warming up to.

Although the very presence of each other gives them new hope and strength, things are difficult as Louisa thrives by using her hearing, while Alex shies away from sound and uses sight.
