El día de nochebuena todos esperaban a Ramiro, pero Ramiro no llega. La mesa está puesta, han llegado todos los invitados, solo falta Ramiro, pero Ramiro no llega... ni llegará. Yolanda Duperly es la hermana menor de Ramiro, la que se ha hecho cargo de él desde que su madre, afectada de Alzheimer, ha dejado de darse cuenta de la realidad y vive sumida en su oscuridad. Yolanda emprende una cruzada en la búsqueda de su hermano. Ramiro es discapacitado psíquico, un niño atrapado en el cuerpo de un hombre. Al pueblo ha llegado Alex, un nuevo inspector de policía al que se le ha asignado el caso. El tiempo apremia, Yoli pondrá a prueba la paciencia del inspector, puesto que a ella le parece que no está haciendo lo suficiente por encontrarlo. Entre ellos se va creando una tensa relación, ya que los dos creen que el otro está entorpeciendo el esclarecimiento del caso. Un pueblo que se vuelca en la búsqueda. Un pueblo en el que nada es lo que parece.

After leaving for the whole summer without a trace, Ela finally returned home.The only problem is she has no clue what happened over the summer. They found me in a boarding school in spain. Washed up on the shore. I had no clue where I was or who I was. A lot of things change when you leave for the whole summer... you, your friends, your school. Especially when everyone you know thought you were dead. It's also not good when they ask you what happened while you were gone and you genuinely cannot tell them because you really have know clue. The new psychologist says that I'm repressing the information because it's too painful for me to remember. I call BS. Something major happened over the summer. Something big. Something that made me better, stonger, faster, and more keen to things than ever before. Something the strengthened my senses and skills. Something that made me a master at using weapons. Something changed me and I know it has something to do with the Circle. I'm afraid that if I learn the truth about what I did last summer that I'm going to realize that I've turned into a monster. All I know is someone wanted, needed, me to forget what happened over the summer. Because two an keep a secret if one of them is dead, or in my case, has severe memory loss. The next few months are crucial as I get new enemies, mend relationships, and figure out what the hell happened last summer.
