Before she found out that she was Santa's daughter, she was just normal Mary. Before she found out that she was Santa's daughter, the only thing that she had to worry about was making sure that the horses under her and her mother's care were fed and started to gain their trust back in humans. Before she found out that she was Santa's Daughter, the only thing that Mary needed to hide was the fact that she was able to communicate with animals with her mind.
And yet, after she found out that she was Santa's daughter, she became more than "normal" Mary. After she found out that she Santa's daughter, she knew that she had to hide the fact that she was his daughter, a daughter of a mythical "creature." And, after she found out that she was Santa's daughter, her whole world started to go down in a spiral.
Mary was not only Santa's daughter, but she was, also, Santa's Princess. And, she had a kingdom, that she had no idea about, that she needed to learn how to rule. Can she become a Princess, or will she fall short of what she needed to do?
