She would observe how the poisonous cigarette stood between his teeth. The way it delicately rested between his fingers as nothing but toxic fumes of thick, black smoke filled him within. She observed it all. The way his lip ring would move around as he talked, the way his dimples popped out when he smiled a different way. She couldn't help it. He was her poison. He was the only reason her feet stood still on the ground of the earth and not underneath it. He was the reason she hadn't been wandering around the sky like a hopeless soul that can't keep her feet on the ground. Sure, the earth's gravity kept her standing, but she didn't need it. He was all she needed to stand. He was her gravity.
