Maribelle knows for certain that there are two things she hates in her life, those who are rich, and how she became one of them.
Maribelle Harborn (formerly known as Maribelle Smithson) is the step-daughter of Johnathon Harborn, heir to two of the biggest companies on the planet. While Johnathon may seem like nothing but a polite, yet flirtatious, thirty-five year old, Maribelle hates how he treats his servants and wields his wealth. Not only that, but she hates that he and her mother, Rachel, are sending her to Greensward Academy. Maribelle has no desire to go to a school that she believes to be filled with nothing but pretentious, wealthy kids. Perhaps she should have learned by now to never judge a book by its cover.
On her first day at the school, she bumps into four people who will change her life. Marcus Williamson, the sixteen-year-old son of self-made millionaire Jade Williamson, Henrietta Ferriday (who goes strictly by Ferris), Prescott Gardener - a prankster and genius, and Atticus Daniels, the kid who holds all the parties. One likes taking pictures of butterflies resting on flowers, one has a mixture of lime green and neon pink hair, one put toothpaste in the cafeteria's Oreos, and one enjoys blindfolded Twister. All of them show her that not all rich people are as bad as Maribelle thinks, and that Greensward Academy has a lot more to offer than meets the eye.
Ella is falling apart trying to live a "perfect" high school life. Then she meets Ren, who can see past her scars. Suddenly perfection isn't her only option.
