An upcoming freshman at Freedom High School, Carmela Pinson lives in her own little world and doesn't really care much about others besides her best friend, Anastacia Bristol. But when sophomore Derek McMillen, a handsome guy who'd be the "king of all jerks" as easily as Carmela would be the "queen of all dorks," sets his eyes on Anastacia, Carmela finds herself as the "gatekeeper" between Derek and his target. Will she get along well with Derek and subsequently label him an okay-guy in Anastacia's eyes? Or will Derek's plan to win over Carmela to get to her best friend turn sour, and fast?
