vroeger zat brook op school bij harry, maar dat waren niet haar leukste tijden, zeker niet. harry heeft brooke 3 jaar lang gepest, elke dag, elke uur, elke minuut en elke seconde werd ze er mee geconfronteerd dat ze lelijk, dik, stom,... was. ze heeft zelfs 3 keer geprobeerd zelfmoordpoging te plegen, maar telkens werd ze wakker en lag ze in het ziekenhuis. ze was het beu, kotsbeu, dat ze verhuisde naar londen. toen ze het laatste uur het aan de klas vertelde vond iedereen het jammer dat brooke wegging, maar harry? nee, het enige wat hij nog zei was: i'm coming back.
brooke is in dit verhaal nu 18 en is het populairste meisje van de hele school. al drie volle jaren heeft ze niks van harry gehoord. het is een week voor vrijdag de dertiende, iedereen heeft het er over. het is echt overal het gespreksonderwerp. heel de school is doodsbang of er iets gaat gebeuren, maar brooke? brook geloofd er niet in, ze vind het allemaal zever. de dag voor de dertiende gaat ze naar een concert van coldplay. als ze thuis komt en het huis wilt binnengaan word ze ineens gegrepen bij haar a rm en in een zwart busje gestopt. voor dat haar ogen zwart worden hoort ze nog een lage bekende mannenstem zeggen: i said that i was coming back.
