“One’s dignity may be assaulted, vandalised and cruelly mocked, but it can never be taken away unless it is surrendered” Michael J. Fox.

Alexandra García is a seventeen year old girl who has had the definition of a difficult life- her family loathes and despises her, she struggles with her weight, she is harassed on a daily basis at school (courtesy of her junior sister), and most importantly, she has never experienced what love is. Nevertheless, she chose to endure all the torment, believing life will improve. However, after a social gathering ends with disastrous results, she is disregarded by those who were meant to care for her and protect her.
Having no choice but to seek help from her unpretentious aunt, Alexandra soon discovers the beauty of life and love. Her life is soon transformed to one she never dreamed it could become. Needless to say this year is one that Alexandra can never forget.
