Every lost lamb needs a Shepherd. Every broken soul needs a bandage. Every hurting heart deserves to love again. Agnes is broken. She has taken every hit she can and still keep going. As she reaches the end of her rope (or her knife), she meets an extraordinary man.
He will teach her to let the world in a little at a time. He will guide her on a new path away from the hate, self-destruction, and pain that she has lived with up to now. He will protect her from the wolves that seek to destroy her, be they in her mind or at her back. He will be her guardian. After all, isn't that what a good Shepherd does?

what if healing someone gave you their pain? and what if taking someone's pain meant you were permanently stuck with it?
