All he wanted was to make it to the end of his term but now with no one to write to he sends one last letter knowing he will never again get a response, so when he does he is shocked to find out the new tenant of his sisters house is the one who wrote to him. Finding comfort in the letters passed between each other they find ways to cope and make the necessary changes in their lives. James helps Cher move on from her past and Cher helps James to see a light in the darkness. All Cher wants is to start fresh and all James wants is to make it to the end of his term.
