Mischief wasn't the best side to associate with. He was troublesome and oftentimes had almost hurt someone in some way, unfortunately , it was just his way of fun.
Mischief is the embodiment of Thomas', well, mischief, he wasn't dark nor light, he was a neutral side. Thomas didn't even know he existed until he showed up after one of his episodes. Along the way, everyone learns who he is as a trait, and maybe even more.
