Izuku Midoriya became blind at the age of seven when he went through a lot of emotional trauma. His mind shut off his sight as a reaction. He hated it. There was a one in a million chance he would get his sight back. 

He had a loving mother who did whatever she could for the boy. He had an amazing dog named Everest. He had no sight but he worked hard to enhance his other senses.

The only problem was that Izuku hated the darkness. He hated knowing only the color black. He hated feeling helpless.He hated not being normal.
