Black Reef is a small fishing town scarcely known to the outside world. Most people who know of it are local tourists who come for the beaches and little else. However, the locals know their town as a place of Merfolk; people who are half sea, and half land. Here, people still have flip phones, and most think wifi is some alien technology. However, one thing Black Reef is vibrant for is their culture and respect for Merfolk.

Adrian Bay is understandably skeptical of the idea of fish people living in their waters, but what happens when he meets one for himself?
