Gold blood splattered on the concrete. A body of a young boy laid on top of the blood. Light hit the body and the blood, the shimmery liquid starting to shine. People stood around the body, shock written all over their faces. A person stood in the shadows on top of the tower. They lifted a device up to the mouth. "It is done." "Good. Return before someone notices you. Act like you are one of them so you don't cause suspicion." The person gave a nod. They removed the robes to reveal short black hair and fair skin. They shoved the robes into a black duffle bag. No one would notice they were not gold blooded unless they happened to cut them. A small smile made its way onto the boy's face. He didn't know why the boy had to die. All he knew is that he had to because if he didn't, it would be him who would be dead. Alexander knew one thing and one thing only. Kill the target or be killed in place of the target. He didn't know his family. The people in the black robes are his family. But he finds someone. He can't kill them. What will happen? Read to find out!

NONE OF THE CHAPTERS IN THIS BOOK ARE PG-13! The settings for this book went psycho, but I promise you, this book is clean. I stared in amazement and horror, and then realized that the person-which, as I looked at him, was a boy-was extending his hand to lift me up. I took it thankfully. When I stood up, the world tipped to the left, and I stumbled. The boy caught me with strong hands. I looked at him and finally was able to look in on his features. The boy was only about 13 or 14. He had a shock of freckles, and a pointy nose, with rosy cheeks, and a mane of curly black hair. He had this quirky smile on his face, and his eyes glinted with mischief. He was dressed in a smithy outfit, complete with a tool belt, which had nothing in it. He also had some sturdy black boots. "You alright?" His voice was kind of squeaky, like he was just getting through puberty, right in the middle of high and low. "I'm fine," I replied, though he raised one of his eyebrows, pretty sure I was lying. I was of course. My favorite band had just turned into a couple of ugly, unearthly mermaids! My hands and legs trembled, and I almost fell over. I managed to stand, and asked, "What were those?" "Sirens. Probably why all the people in this room are asleep!" He grinned, like this was some kind of joke. I was not laughing. "Who are you?" I asked, not really wanting an answer, but it felt good to talk. "Oh! My apologies." He said it with a great bow. "Leo Valdez, engineer extraordinaire, son of Hephaestus." Edit: Thank you guys so much for all the awesome comments and for helping me reach over 25k reads! It is really a dream-come-true for me, I am so grateful for all your support.
