As per the law in England, every year all teenagers over the age of sixteen report to the Training Centre at the heart of the city, where their entire futures will be decided by two years of tests. Tests that will discover their strengths, and weaknesses, the tenacity of their character, and their willingness to succeed. Score well in the examinations and you'll earn yourself a good life, however should you fail...

Erin Kingsleigh is about to find out exactly what the consequences are. Troubled by the new classes she's thrown into, and struggling to keep her head above the water, she doesn't realise her brother's the one in trouble until it's too late. With the support of her friends and reluctant second year Colton, Erin delves into a world of lies deep enough to drown everyone in the desperate hope of saving the person she cares about most.

She has secrets no one knows about, secrets she's been hiding to keep those around her safe. However, what Elena least expects is for her two worlds to collide all because of two boys she meets at school. * * * Elena headed towards the door. She was about to turn the doorknob when his next words froze her in place. "How do you think you'll sister will react if she finds out what you do?" asked Lucas. She slowly turned to face the two with a raised brow, "Meaning?" "Think about it," urged Cole, "How do you think everyone would react if they found out what you do during your spare time, especially your sister." She narrowed her eyes ."Are you blackmailing me?" she asked crossing her arms and raising her chin. "No, I never said that." Cole held up his hands yet grinning mischievously. "We're just saying that it would be in your best interest, along with ours if you joined us." shrugged Lucas. "You can't prove anything," she bluffed. A devious smile speared across Cole's face while Lucas grinned wickedly, "Oh, we both know you don't believe that." ------------------- The events and places are completely fictional along with the characters.
