Aubrey Cain can't remember anything; the memories of her home, her family, who she was are nonexistent, probably a side-effect from being stuck in a coma since as long as she can't-really-remember.
She finds herself wrapped up by the workings of SHIELD and Hydra in a post-Washington world. It's inside SHIELD that she meets the famous Captain Steve Rogers, stunning Natasha Romanoff, lethal Clint Barton, majestic Thor Odinson, arrogant Tony Stark, smart-ass Sam Wilson, and the gentle but dangerous Bruce Banner.
However, there's a new addition to the team: the enigmatic Winter Soldier, a figure that Aubrey both fears and esteems.
In a world that's torn apart by the ever-growing Hydra, Aubrey will have to discern who she was and who she will be. But how can she even begin to trust the Avengers and SHIELD when they won't tell her how they know everything about her?
