He never meant to care about her.
She was just supposed to be a piece in their little game: a pawn to him. A queen to Sherlock.
It seemed to turn completely around.
She was smart like her father and knew danger better than her own mother.
And something in him wanted to give her a better life.
NOTE:
I've decided to try to rewrite an old fanfic I wrote about five years ago xD it's still up on my page and I wrote it when I was in 7th grade - I'm now a senior in high school. You won't have to have read the original story to understand this one :) but if you want to read the OG from five years ago, feel free to go check it out!! Thank you to everybody who has supported the story here and on other publishing platforms :)

Three Is Company

34 parts Complete

When John Watson moves into his childhood home, he finds that both the house and his neighbors have remained constant. In the effort of raising his daughter and living a normal life, John struggles to understand why his ailing neighbor, Sherlock Holmes, has yet to move out of the home that caused him so much childhood pain. Little can John understand that his old neighbor finds the world more frightening than ever, for while the old demons of his childhood had long since died, the new demons come to haunt him may be lodged within his own mind. *Trigger warnings!!* Discusses mental health issues, gender and sexuality, and self harm.
