After being bullied for years for being gay, then threatened by the families of the teenagers who bullied him, Devon's father sent him to Croxton to stay together with Ivan and Blake to avoid being harassed in his old town. Due to the incident, he was traumatized and developed a fear for big and tall men. His cousins' boyfriends were tall and being constantly around him was not helping at first but he got used to it later. He was a romanticist at heart and had hoped he would find happiness just like his cousins did.

Gabriel was aching for a permanent spouse, a lover and a soulmate. His only serious relationship ended up in disaster and he was afraid to fall in love again. He had worked himself almost to death and managed to climb on the corporate ladder to the top. He thought his work would take him off his mind of the desire of another skin but it proved him wrong.
